Skyes room

When I started figuring out how to decorate Skyes room I wanted something that would grow with her. Not a "nursery". I got really excited when I saw this Chandelier and knew it would be perfect so I had to get it! I love the way it looks in her room and cant wait to get the rest of her stuff in there :)

Applliances are delivered!

On Wednesday my good ol pals at lowes brought us our appliances :) I was so excited to finally see them in our house! They arent hooked up or pushed into place but they are here! All thats left is cabinets :)

Paint!

Let me just say it took FOEVER for me to pick out paint colors. Theres a spot in our current house that I painted with 5 different colors just to pick out the 1 single color. Its a big decision!  Thank goodness I didnt have to do the painting either :) it took them about a week to do all of the painting for the doors, walls, and trim.

We have a floor!

We had a hard time deciding on what flooring to go with. With kids,  tile is so hard, hardwood is so expensive, and with pets, carpet and laminate werent going to work.  so we decided to go with vinyl. We picked out a really nice looking sheet vinyl and had great installers to come put it down. We love the way it turned out. You can't tell its vinyl, and its cushiony!

Our cupola Is up!

About 3 weeks ago we ordered our cupola for our house. I always call it the pointy thing :)  the guys finally got to come by and put it up today and it looks great!

Before insulation

I forgot to update before the did the insulation and drywall. There is such a huge difference once all the walls are filled in. Drywall is long process with hanging it, texturing it, etc.

Building: Day 1

This morning at 6 am 4 guys showed up to build our house! And man did they work hard :) I checked on them all day to make sure they didnt need lemonade or cookies :) hahah at 10 am they had half of the frame up. At 2 pm the frame was done and they started on the roof. They left at 530 and all of the frame work was done. So impressive! What a great group of workers :)

Concrete work, & foundation!

For those of you that have been following the blog know that I havent updated in a little bit. We got our foundation done! It took a LOT of concrete. About 35 yards of concrete total. Next is building :)

We have a mailbox!

I have to say I have a very talented husband! We went to l lowes one day and picked out a mailbox and post, and our stickers for the mailbox. My amazing husband dug the hole, poured the concrete, put the post in, set up the bricks, and put in the mulch! I think he did a great job and now we can get mail :)

Surprise delivery!

We got a call this morning that our building materials were going to be delivered today! Yay! Around 1 pm a HUGE double roll truck/trailer pulled  up and backed into our new driveway. We unloaded everything, doors, windows, 2x4's, etc and piled it all up! Tomorrow, the builder is coming to start digging the holes. So excited! Below are pictures of all of the materials. It's weird to think that is going to be our house! :)

Very peaceful and quiet. I can't wait until this is our view outside our window. The first step

It's an exciting day!
We got our building permit! We are building a residential pole barn. If you don't know what that is, the picture of one is below. There was so much stuff that went in to just getting the permit! The next step was getting a "pre site" inspection. We got that today, and we passed it! Now we can officially start building 😊 I'll keep you updated on the building process that goes in to one of these 👍
